This work was a commission for the San Francisco chef Peter Hemsley. He was specific in the subject matter but left the rest to me. I tried to incorporate the movement and fine details that I enjoy imbuing my works with. I also chose to do a black thin-set background which is poured up to the edge of the mosaic but slightly below the mosaic level which give the subject a slight forward relief from the background.
