My creative subjects embrace transformation and the graceful or chaotic dynamics of energetic forces. The visceral quality, in workmanship, of the rise and fall of the hammer over the hardy, in an almost lyrical/rhythmic way, offers me an artistic sense of meditation which offers access to the inner landscape of my emotional and spiritual self. As I draw my image, prepare the substrate, select materials, and prepare them for placement; I sense the flow of lines that emerge and express a concept of time, symbolism, rites of passage, and shamanic spirituality. Unpredictably, my expression gets intended and unintended shapes. The final piece, that stands alone as a mosaic, lets me know that my creativity is actual and always a surprise.
